Los Angeles scenesters will remember Zoe-Ruth Erwin from her art-pop band Little Red Lung, who split after releasing the 2015 album “Beware.” Erwin soon decamped to Reykjavík, Iceland, where she has been living since and working on music for her solo project Zöe.

She released a couple of singles in 2018 — one served as the title track of the Icelandic independent film “Lof Mér Að Falla” (Let Me Fall) — and today Zöe unveiled the first single from her forthcoming full-length debut, due in early 2021. “Shook” is a warm and open-hearted declaration of emotional freedom, best shaken and stirred.

The song might have some serious intentions, but the video? Not so much. The colorful, weird and ultimately wondrous video is the work of director Birta Rán Björgvinsdóttir.
