Samantha Sidley shares a “Quarantine Edition” video for the slinky title track of her debut album, “Interior Person” (one of Buzz Bands LA’s Albums of the Year in that faraway time known as 2019). In contrast with her “I Like Girls” video, Sidley is featured in solitude, teasing contact while shutting the glass door behind her in the single-shot visual directed by Nigel DeFriez. “I honestly had no idea quite how poignant this song would become,” Sidley shared on Facebook. “It was written as a positive twist or response, if you will, to the isolation that accompanies depression. The song has taken up a new meaning during the pandemic, which has pushed all of us to be more isolated physically and emotionally.”

The Cribs also share a new video for their latest collaboration with Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo. The bright, wistful tune, “I Don’t Know Who I Am,” is off their upcoming album “Night Network,” out on November 13 via Sonic Blew/PIAS.

In the single announcement, Gary Jarman said, “Working with Lee on “Be Safe” (off 2007’s “Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever”) was without question one of the highlights of our career as a band, and we think that “I Don’t Know Who I Am” is a worthy follow up collaboration. We are very proud of how it turned out. Lyrically, the song addresses the disconnect that Ryan and myself have always had with our biological paternal lineage – and how that may have shaped our views on masculinity, gender roles, and the men we ultimately grew up to be.”

The video, direct by Nick Scott, interlaces the isolated everyday activities of the band members and Ranaldo.
