Anderson .Paak’s new single, “Cut Em In,” featuring Rick Ross, is a pep rally waiting to happen, and the accompanying music video, released today, takes the heroes back to school.

The video, self-directed by .Paak, features King Bach and takes place on the last day of school in 2020. Paak and partner in crime, Ross, are seniors in high school 10 times over. Their professor, King Bach, cautiously reminds them that they aren’t home free just yet and will need to make it through the remainder of the school day. The video then pans to a high school cafeteria where the two are about to feast upon Ross’s Wing Stop wings and then the beat drops.

Cut to Ross’s verse and he is joined by several background dancers all wearing blue Vans. The video concludes with a rock-star drum solo by .Paak, later joined by the high school marching band. It’s a trip down memory lane for some, but something to be enjoyed by all.

The song appears on the soundtrack to EA’s “Madden NFL 21.”

The “Cut Em In” video comes on the heels of .Paak’s more serious tune, “Lockdown,” which premiered in June.
