■ The White Stripes today shared a previously unseen performance of “Ball and Biscuit” from the October 2003 Shibuya-AX show in Tokyo —  video that heralds the arrival of “The White Stripes Greatest Hits” on Dec. 3. It arrives on CD, a 150-gram black vinyl double-LP and digitally. A colored, three-LP limited edition will also be available for subscribers to the Third Man Records’ Vault.

■ Last Saturday’s Democracy Comes Alive virtual festival — all 10 hours of it — is available to stream on YouTube. The effort, which featured members of the Grateful Dead, Michael Franti, Bruce Hornsby, Billy Strings, Dawes, Trampled by Turtles, Warren Haynes, Shawn Colvin and a slew of others, raised $40,000 (and counting).
