While the world seems to be engulfed in metaphorical and literal flames, Asha Imuno has some “Good News” with his debut album via b4. The record was released earlier this month and comes after his 2019 experimental project, “Full Disclosure.”

“Good News” is packed with bold rap verses — as seen in “Big Words” and “Woodgrain” — lush R&B in “Questions” and provocative jazzy guitar licks in “Lately.”

The last single off the album, “Six Pack,” features Imuno’s tender, breathy vocals, as he gradually ushers in punchy lyrics about getting confident and securing the bag. “You can keep your little wallet, we came for the safe,” the 19-year-old raps. “In the City of God, we rise up the rank / Hand in flame, I handle the pain.”

The Moreno Valley native revealed that the track was the first song he made after moving to L.A. to pursue music. “This is the song that let me know I had to see this album through,” he says on his Instagram.

Imuno is one of the 10 members of the genre-bending collective Raised By the Internet and, on the new album, he collaborated with fellow counterparts Jasper Typical, Rob Midnight and Gidi, who is the executive co-producer. Alan Warhol and DBRVSS also have vocal appearances on the record.
