Just imagine me roasting chestnuts over a warm soundboard.

Tune in at 9 tonight for the L.A. Buzz Bands Show’s Christmas Eve Special on The Independent 88.5 FM. I’ll have a slew of fireplace-warm holiday tunes from L.A. artists, and, even better, almost all of them are originals, so you won’t have to listen to the same-ol’, same-ol’ carols. Not that there’s anything wrong with that — it’s just that there are so many new songs that deserve to be unwrapped.

Tonight’s highlights include:

— New originals from the likes of The Bird and the Bee, Grizfolk, Andrew Bird, Phoebe Bridgers, Finneas, Sara Noelle, Sofa City Sweetheart and Izzy Spring.

— Three cover songs, by Jeff Schroeder (of the Smashing Pumpkins and sung by Wayne Everett), Joel Jerome and Alice Bag.

— And the first song from HOMESCOOL, the duo of 6-year-old Lennon and 8-year-old Arrow. They are the daughters of the members of the L.A. duo TWO, Arrow being the eldest child of Aja Volkman-Reynolds and Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons and Lennon the daughter of Dan Epand and his wife, photographer Cameron Jordan). It might be past the girls’ bedtime, but we hear Santa won’t be hitting their houses until later, so maybe their parents will let them stay up.
