Beloved music retailer Amoeba Hollywood is ready to throw open the doors at its new location — as soon as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted on non-essential businesses.

Amoeba formally departed its old home at 6400 Sunset Blvd. in April, having to shutter the store location earlier than anticipated during the initial COVID-19 outbreak.

In an announcement on their website Monday, the retailer said, “The good news is the new store is ready to roll. We have our final sign off by the L.A. Building Department and the store is now fully stocked.

“The bad news is COVID-19.”

The new store, at 6200 Hollywood Blvd., is slightly smaller than the old location. Amoeba has an extensive collection of photos documenting its build-out here.

The store also thanked patrons for supporting its GoFundMe campaign.
