Cliff Beach’s new single “Sunday Morning” is not about the Sabbath. It’s about what happened Saturday night. And regret.

The veteran funk-soul man, whose last full-length “The Gospel According to Cliff Beach” came out in 2017 and whose 2020 single “Confident” won Grand Prize at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, delivers a rallying cry for rebirth on his new anthem.

“‘Sunday Morning’ is about recovering from addiction,” Beach says. “Being sober for one year now I reflect on past regrets, bad decisions and wanting to forget them. I hit a point in my life where I realized I needed a change, for physical and mental health reasons and I hopped on the wagon, cold turkey, which is hard to do as alcohol flows heavily at shows and social gatherings.

“I believe you have the power to change what you can if you want to, and this song supports and echoes that message, moving away from death and destruction and moving towards life and holistic health and wellness.”
