All the clichés that boil down to “don’t bore us, get to the chorus” apply with San Diego trio Almost Monday, who soared into the pop consciousness with four singles released last year.

Included was the irrepressible “Broken People,” the highlight of their EP “Don’t Say You’re Ordinary.”

The trio of Dawson Daugherty, Cole Clisby and Luke Fabry returned last week with the treacly “Live Forever” … and ain’t no pandemic gloom going on here. Just plain live-it-up fun. So is the video, directed by Nico Poalillo and inspired, they say, by the Beastie Boys. It’s a quest for the Holy Grail, which, as anybody who’s hopped down the 5 knows, is right there in San Diego.

As for “Live Forever,” slide it into your mix with bands like Mating Ritual.
