ONLINE FINDS:

LA Phil’s “Sound/Stage” series began its second season earlier this month with maestro Gustavo Dudamel‘s son Martín opening with a reading of the Indian folk tale “The Lion and the Clever Jackals” with whimsical visuals by the Ghost Animation collective in Kolkata, India. The orchestra then segued into a powerful rendition of Camille Saint-Saëns’ “The Carnival of the Animals,” featuring pianists Yuja Wang and David Fung. Three more folktale readings by children intersperse the performance from Brazil, Australia and Denmark. Also watch episode 2, with special guest chef José Andrés here.

■ Scottish post-rockers Mogwai released their UK chart-topping 10th album, “As the Love Continues,” last month, and this past week KEXP aired DJ Morgan’s recent interview with singer-guitarist-bassist Stuart Braithwaite and a special recorded performance from Tramway in Glasgow.  The band rocks through songs such as “Ceiling Granny” and “Dry Fantasy” from the new album as well as “How to Be a Werewolf” from their album “Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will” (released 10 years ago). The live performance was directed and filmed by Antoy Crook; produced by Kyrie MacTavish; and recorded, mixed and mastered by Kenny MacLeod. Watch it in full here.
