ONLINE FIND:

Lael Neale recently appeared on 88.5FM’s 88FIVE Live at Home online series with midday host and station program director Mookie. Having returned to her family farm in Virginia at the beginning of pandemic lockdown last year, the singer-songwriter beamed in from her garden shed tethering off a friend’s WiFi hot spot. They chatted about her new album “Acquainted With Night,” released last month via Subpop, and her origins in poetry, growing up a Deadhead baby, transitioning into folk, letting go of perfection and surrendering to the moment. Neale also shared soaring performances of the album’s opening track, “Blue Vein” (accompanied by Guy Blakeslee on the Omnichord), and the album’s title track, “Acquainted With Night.”

Also watch the video for “Acquainted With Night.”
