L.A. quartet Bizou lives at the intersection of post-punk and popgazing, a dimly lit street corner where angst hangs out and watches old tapes of MTV’s “120 Minutes.”

They’ve released two EPs, a 2019 self-titled debut and last year’s “Stilllifeburning,” both aperitifs for their first full-length. Today, the quartet — singer Marissa Prietto (Wax Idols, Glaare), multi-instrumentalist/producer Josiah Mazzaschi (Light FM), Nicole Fiorentino (The Cold and Lovely, and former bassist for Smashing Pumpkins and Veruca Salt) and guitarist Nicki Nevlin (Light FM) — unveiled the title track for that debut album.

The dense and daunting “Tragic Lover” shimmers in the dark, a goth-rock song trapped on the dance floor searching in vain for a partner. Thomas Nelson, Brandon Pierce and BIZOU collaborated to direct the video, capturing Prietto in full fever dream.

The album will out June 4.
