Patti Smith, Moses Sumney and Rodrigo y Gabriela — along with the likes of Bedouine, Niia, the Marías, Vintage Trouble and Rodrigo Amarante — will perform as part of the genre-spanning three-month calendar of events at The Ford starting in late July.

The 1,200-seat outdoor amphitheater across the 101 from the Hollywood Bowl today announced a program of music, dance, poetry, theater and film that kicks off July 30 with two weeks of free performances. The venue, which operates under the auspices of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, is known for its multi-disciplinary and multicultural offerings.

“It is so thrilling to finally get to announce our first concerts and events at The Ford after this past year,” said Cynthia Fuentes, director of The Ford. “We wanted this season to be a celebration bringing together the communities that make Los Angeles unlike any other city. Our season features many artists with long histories at The Ford, emerging new artists and musical legends. Taken together, we hope this season honors The Ford’s tradition of inclusion and community-centered programming while offering some new ideas, bringing even more people in to enjoy this historic venue.”

Tickets to free concerts will be distributed via invitation to essential workers, fans and community organizations across the county, and through The Ford’s website. Register here for a chance to attend. Tickets go on sale here for Ford events starting at 10 a.m. June 15. The Ford’s COVID-19 protocols are detailed here.
