ONLINE FIND:

■ Joined by L.A. sons Liam and Elroy, longtime producer Mitchell Froom as a solid member of the performing band, and fellow founding member Nick Seymour flying in from Ireland, Crowded House coalesced in successfully quarantined New Zealand, toured live within the island nation and released their triumphant seventh album to the world, “Dreamers are Waiting,” a comeback for the ensemble after 11 years since 2010’s “Intriguer.” As noted by longtime fans, the new full-length is infused with a buoyant spirit and harmonic bliss not seen since earlier albums with founding drummer Paul Hester, who died in 2005.

Frontman Neil Finn recently shared on World Cafe about how Mick Fleetwood inspired him to rally the group together again and how natural the band came together with family reinforcements this time. Fellow Kiwi Zane Lowe also caught up with the songsmith on Apple Music in a retrospective look at the band’s prolific and influential career thus far.

Since their December single, “Whatever You Want” (the tongue-in-cheek video directed by Kills Birds’ Nina Ljeti, starring Mac DeMarco), the band have released a few more singles, including “To the Island,” performed live for the Ellen Show a couple weeks ago.

Also watch the video for the song, metaphorically capturing the reunion of the band irl in New Zealand (with remixes by Tame Impala and Unknown Mortal Orchestra):

And watch the video for their new single “Playing With Fire,” released last month:
