L.A. Buzz Bands Show, tonight at 9 on The Independent 88.5 FM: It’s a flashback week

0

Climb aboard the time machine for a special L.A. Buzz Bands Show tonight on The Independent 88.5 FM — I’ve anointed it a Throwback Thursday.

Starting at 9 p.m., I’ll beam back 10 years for a selection of 16 songs from 2011 — from very familiar names such as Foster the People, Cold War Kids, Grouplove and Capital Cities to artists who were just launching their projects, such as Bleached, Big Black Delta and Hanni El Khatib. Plus, a smattering of acts who are no longer with us, at least not in their 2011 incarnation, including Fool’s Gold, Dum Dum Girls, Superhumanoids and Vanaprasta. And, yes, looking back over the music we covered in 2011, I wish I had more than an hour.

If you’re out of FM range, click here to stream the show at 9. If you’ve missed a recent show, check out the archives. Here’s your playlist:
