Dating back to his emergence in the Bay Area in 2015, Jackson Phillips’ music as Day Wave has hit like a caffeinated beverage, little three- and four-minute pick-me-ups. On his new single “Where Do You Go,” the driving bass line is the straw that stirs the drink, as Phillips waxes about letting go of someone dear.
The single is the second this year, following “Before We Knew” and last year’s four-song delight, the “Crush” EP. It’s played and produced by Phillips, with Lars Stalfors providing the mix.
