In which we group three recently released videos all filmed in the desert — not counting Ed Sheeran’s, which you’ve probably seen — from Jim Lindberg, Jesika von Rabbit and Paradise Vultures.

JIM LINDBERG, “You’re Not Alone”

Jim Lindberg — the Pennywise frontman known for visceral, shout-along punk anthems (and also for his charitable work and his book “Punk Rock Dad”) — has released the solo acoustic album “Songs From the Elkhorn Trail.” For now, it’s only available digitally (CD and vinyl to come next May). And it feels as comfy as an old pair of boots, songs about relationships that abide and what remains when they don’t, all done in fine troubadour tradition. The video for “You’re Not Alone” was directed by Whitey McConnaughy (The Menzingers, OFF!, Superchunk, among others) and stars actor/comedian John Ennis (“Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” “Zodiac”) as a man alone — or is he? — in the desert. JESIKA VON RABBIT, “Desert Dream Center”

The cult of Jesika von Rabbit remains strong. The onetime leader of High Desert crazies Gram Rabbit spread her solo wings with the albums “Journey Mitchell” (2015) and “Dessert Rock” (2018), and her edgy electronic psych-rock continues to be the stuff of hallucinations. Set in some ruins in the Mojave, the video for “Desert Dream Center” — the follow-up to last year’s “Who the Hell Knows” — was directed by the artist and Roy Jurgens* and features a pair of weird bunnies (of course), strange men and graffiti. Be careful when you visit these unforgiving desert environs. Moreover, be careful what you ingest.

PARADISE VULTURES, “Love Is a Cancer”

Paradise Vultures are a riff-loving hard rock trio founded by singer-bassist Tommy Senter in 2016, the year before they released their debut album “Gourmet Carrion.” Now including singer-guitarist Art Santora and drummer Cory Massing, they make music about “sex, drugs and daddy issues” — tunes that are seething and gritty before exploding in bombast. The video for “Love Is a Cancer,” the first single since that album, follows the fate that befalls three visitors to the desert. Directed by Ed Shiers, it’s rather comically grisly … until it’s no longer comical. Not recommended to those averse to gore.
