The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem head up a stacked lineup for promoter Goldenvoice’s latest festival experience, This Ain’t No Picnic, scheduled for Aug. 27-28 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl.

Le Tigre, Phoebe Bridgers, Beach House, Jorja Smith, Jungle, Kaytranada, IDLES, Four Tet + Floating Points, Honey Dijon, Wet Leg, Genesis Owusu, Courtney Barnett, Descendents, Yves Tumor, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Caroline Polachek and Turnstile are among the many highlights for the two-day, six-stage affair.

The name is a nod to one of Goldenvoice’s earliest festivals (Sonic Youth, Guided by Voices, Superchunk and Trail of Dead were among those featured at Irvine’s Oak Canyon Ranch).

This year’s “non-picnic” will feature a stage devoted to Despacio, the custom-built disco sound system built by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and team.

Two-day general admission tickets at $299; weekend VIP passes are $799 + fees. Register for presale here. Presale starts at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9. If the festival doesn’t sell out, remaining tickets will be available starting at 2 p.m. that day.
