Director Jason Lester’s video for the sassy new Ashe single “Another Man’s Jeans” turns the song into a song-and-dance number set in an exotic locale, the W Hotel in Punta Mita, Mexico.
Stylish and sexy, it portrays the L.A.-based singer-songwriter, born Ashlyn Rae Willson, surrounded by a half-dozen dancers, sipping umbrella drinks, enjoying the beach party life and slyly encountering different versions of herself. As music videos go, it’s pretty extravagant … and she had to make it twice.
The story goes that after three days shooting the video, Ashe returned to the U.S. to find that the film was ruined. So she and her crew went back to Mexico and shot it again. Talk about a budget-buster.
The song is the first since Ashe’s 2021 debut album “Ashlyn,” which led with the FINNEAS collaboration “Till Forever Falls Apart.”
“‘Another Man’s Jeans’ is about unashamed and uninhibited confidence, loosening up and having a good time,” she says. “It sounds like what carefree feels like. It’s sexy! And loud! And fun! It’s a reminder to not take life too seriously.”
