L.A. Phil and the Ford announced the amphitheatre’s 2022 season, beginning June 12 with its sister celebration of the Hollywood Bowl’s 100th season on night two of the 1o1 Festival, hosted by KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic host Novena Carmel with Eyooxaarin (Tongva and Chumash blessings), Mereba, Maye, Taylor McFerrin, Gingee, Weapons of Mass Creation and more. Bookending the eclectic, genre- and geographic-expanding program are Latin indie-alternative rock stalwarts Silvana Estrada and Gepe as part of L.A. Phil Music and Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel’s five-year Pan-American Music Initiative (PAMI).

In the middle is a vast cornucopia of music, dance and cultural programs such as Melissa Etheridge; Kamasi Washington; Warpaint; Rufus Wainwright; Ani DiFranco; Calexico; Ibeyi; Michael Franti & Spearhead; José González; Les Claypool’s Bastard Jazz; Best Coast (performing all of their albums “Crazy For You” and “The Only Place” on back-to-back nights); Mary Chapin Carpenter; Babasónicos; She & Him; Noche Cosmica with the label’s Thee Sinseers, Katzù Oso, Irene Diaz and Luna Luna; Nubya Garcia and Nate Smith; Christopher Jackson and Wayne Brady; Terence Blanchard featuring the E-Collective and Turtle Island Quartet; Punch Brothers and Watchhouse featuring Sarah Jarosz; La Marisoul and the Love Notes Orchestra; Tigran Hamasyan; Monsieur Periné; Junction Trio; Chulita Vinyl Club; 30th Annual Outfest “Under the Stars”; Kayamanan Ng Lahi (Filipino dance, music and more); Nonosina (Polynesian dance); Bob Baker Marionette Theater; ATMA (South Indian ragas); the Halluci Nation and El Dusty; Juan Michel, Los Colibrí and more celebrating and honoring the life and art of Juan Gabriel in “¡Viva La Tradición! Juan Gabrielísimo” and much more.

“As one of the oldest performing arts venues in Los Angeles, The Ford holds a storied place in the city’s history, and we embrace that history with every artist and ensemble that takes our stage,” said Cynthia Fuentes, Director of The Ford, in a statement. “More than ever before, this year will be about celebrating bright and brilliant voices across different genres. The 2022 season will shine a spotlight on LA’s own artists, both emerging and established, as we welcome unforgettable performers to our summer stage.” Dudamel added, “… Much like the beautifully diverse people and neighborhoods of our great city, we will join together to become something more than the sum of our parts, united in harmony by the common language of music.”

Ticket packages for three or more shows are on sale now, with tickets beginning at $10 (LA Soundscapes tickets include up to two free children’s tickets).

Individual show tickets go on sale Tuesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. except for the free 101 Festival, with registration opening May 10 along with the Hollywood Bowl season.
