Starting the week with a three-spoon dose of rock songs: Check out the latest from Little Hurricane, Fast Color and Los Saints

LITTLE HURRICANE, “Mockingbird”

San Diego husband-wife duo Little Hurricane rode out the pandemic at home with their two kids. So what did Mom (Celeste “CC” Spina) and Dad (Anthony “Tone” Catalano) do? They re-imagined nursery rhymes in their signature dirty-blues style. “Mockingbird” is their first release in two years and a taste of their forthcoming album, “Life Is But a Dream” (release date TBA). Don’t hide the children.

FAST COLOR, “Back in Town”

Fresh off last year’s debut EP, Glassell Park power trio Fast Color have released “Back in Town,” the first single from an album coming later this year. It’s a delightfully acerbic riff monster that the band says is an ode to the universe: “It’s abstractly about allowing yourself to be a vessel in life. Embracing light, darkness and every color in between. I find when things feel right, they feel exciting. The universe itself is craving a thrill.”

LOS SAINTS, “IDK”

The follow-up to February’s single “Fouund You Somewhere,” San Diego trio Los Saints — Angel Mariscal, Emiliano Garcia and Gianluca Exposito — turn down the garage-rock a click or two for a moment of self-reflection on their new single “IDK.” Of the song, Mariscal says, “‘IDK’ is my attempt to document what it’s like for someone with social anxiety to enter a relationship for the very first time and the trouble this can cause, from my experience of course. The chaos is real!” And that’s the truth.
