A once-blazing love has been reduced to dying embers in “Faded Fire,” the new single from San Diego-bred Creature Canyon.

The song — a funk-lite soft rocker with interwoven guitars and three-part harmonies — introduces their debut album, “Remarks,” out Sept. 2.

Produced by Christian Lum (of Private Island) and engineered by Mike Schuppan (Foster The People, Young The Giant, Wolf Alice), the album finds the five-piece — Luc Fralic, Ryan Amyot, Austin Steele, Aaron Lund and Kyle Victoria — on a growth spurt, touching on both pop/R&B (“Mirrors”) and disco-rock (“Pressure,” “Simulator”). “Creating this album has been a journey for us, both emotionally and sonically,” the band says. “We spent a lot of time early on in the writing process establishing a sound that collectively represented each and every member of the band. We all had equal contributions to the songwriting, pulling from each member’s past experiences to bring it all together.”
