Local Natives have announced the July 7 arrival of their fifth album, “Time Will Wait for No One,” an album the band says “was made during a time of metamorphosis for us. Former selves melting away as some of us became fathers, endured periods of isolation, loss and identity crisis.”

All of which sounds like serious stuff, reflected in the tenor of the three songs they issued last year: “Just Before the Morning” (as good a single as they’ve ever released), “Desert Snow” and “Hourglass.”

New track “NYE” offers a brisker, different take, and director Jonathan Chu’s madcap video is full of goofball antics, right down to the confetti cannons. It’s almost a Dad’s Day Off kind of thing.

Local Natives are live-streaming a concert at 7:30 tonight from Neue House on YouTube, which will be followed by a Q&A. The band has two dates upcoming at the Ford to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their sophomore album, “Hummingbird.”
