Ever since they started interrupting all the chatter at indie venues over a decade ago, Irontom has been the sound of all hell breaking loose. If it’s not Harry Hayes’ sinister, apocalyptic bellowing (they originally called themselves The Bellows), it’s guitarist Zach Irons’ metal ministrations, and if it’s not either of those, it’s drummer Dylan Williams landing what feels like body blows.

Irontom’s fourth album, the short-ish (seven tracks) “GEL, Pt. 1,” came out Friday, full of characteristic snide, swaggering rebukes. The album, the band says, is like “opening your front door to realize you are at the top of Mount Everest, but it’s in the center of Hollywood and your only way out is to shoot down a water slide where you witness golden and crusty characters of the self-obsessed and overstimulated.”

Starting with this spring’s release of “Con Artist,” the videos released for Irontom’s singles — the work of Max Harper and Amalia Irons — invite listeners into their slightly unhinged world. You’re left to decide who is responsible for the un-hinging, but there are more than enough suspects. Look at them askance while Irontom’s music blows the doors off whatever place you’re in.
