Three years since their album “Buck” and two since their pandemic-made EP “Ripe,” Rialto trio Brainstory are stirring up a new pot of psychedelic-jazz-funk-soul stew.

The band — brothers Kevin and Tony Martin and Eric Hagstrom — bring everything to a simmer on their single “Nobody But You,” and empowering jam (“Nobody will save you but you”) made with producer Leon Michels (El Michels Affair). The song will be available next month via Big Crown Records on a 7-inch B/W “Gift of Life.”

The trio is finishing work on their sophomore full-length and expect to announce details about it early next year. This will tide fans over nicely.
