Duran Duran will headline the 2024 Cruel World Festival on Saturday, May 11, at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

It’s the third edition of the Goldenvoice-staged festival, which revolves around ’80s greats (“eighties greaties”?) and the new wave, post-punk, goth, industrial and dance music contemporaries influenced by them.

The lineup also features Interpol, Blondie, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Simple Minds, Placebo, Adam Ant and more. In addition, Ministry will perform songs from their albums “With Sympathy” and “Twitch,” and Gary Numan will perform “The Pleasure Principle” in its entirety.

Cruel World originally was scheduled to debut in 2020, but the pandemic scotched it. Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie and Devo played the first Cruel World when it eventually happened in 2022. The festival returned last year with Siouxsie, Iggy Pop, Billy Idol and Love and Rockets.

Passes go on sale at noon Friday. Fans should register for early access to passes here. Find info on packages here. General admission starts at $209.
