Presenting The Buzz Bands LA 101, our favorite songs of 2023.

It was a year especially rich in the sounds of dream-pop, garage-rock and ’80s/’90s-styled post-punk, grunge and shoegaze. With the assorted pop, soul and classic rock entries, this year’s list proved an agonizing challenge to whittle down to 101, as it seems to every year since we began doing yearend playlists in 2009. This playlist reps Los Angeles artists, because that’s our focus here in BBLA Land. Here’s what’s (most) “popular with us.”
