Jillian Rose Banks — simply Banks to the thousands she has captivated since emerging seemingly out of nowhere (well, actually L.A. and UCLA) in early 2013 — continues to mesmerize. Her mystical, synth-drenched meditations on romance, which thrive on nuance rather than bombast, reach their second chapter on Sept. 30, when her sophomore album “The Altar” will be released on Harvest Records. Director Philippa Price’s video for the dancey “Gemini Feed” (produced by SOHN) portrays the 28-year-old singer’s multiple moods; she in control, she’s out of control, she’s in duress, she’s in the clear. As it always is with Banks, the conversations between left and right brain are fascinating.
