“There’s nothing to fear / In this mysterious life,” Kathryn Baar sings in “Night Terrors,” the new single from SPELLES.
Described as Amy Winehouse-meets-Suicide, the song is the third Baar and co-conspirator Luc Laurent have released this year, following “Holy Hells” and “Beginnings and Endings,” as SPELLES continue to plumb the haunting, wanting and, ultimately, hope of spinning round on this mortal coil.
SPELLES will release their debut album, “Diving Into the Arms of the Divine,” on Nov. 15.
Director Zach Bell gives the new single a suitably dark treatment in the video, which despite its menacing disposition ends with Baar delivering a note of triumph: “Look at me now, I’m coming alive.”
