Catching up with some delicious sounds from Ruth Radelet, Steven van Betten, Eliza McLamb and Escape Artist Lovers …

RUTH RADELET, “Shoot Me Down”

The hits keep coming for ex-Chromatics Ruth Radelet, who last week released “Shoot Me Down,” her first new original since last year’s debut EP, “The Other Side.” Arian Jalali contributes the Edge-y guitar tone on the new song, which was co-written with Filip Nikolic (ex-Poolside). It’s been just a year and half since Radelet released her first original, “Crimes.” She opens for STRFKR on Friday at the Roxy and on Sunday at the Glass House.

STEVEN VAN BETTEN, “Friendship”

Songwriter, composer and Fell Runner band leader Steven van Betten introduced his solo album last year with the poignant single “I Didn’t Mean to Do That.” This week, he releases the album, “Friends & Family,” which was produced by Fell Runner bandmate Tim Carr (Perfume Genius, Hand Habits), and fans of songwriting sophisticates who value substance over adherence to a samey style will want to take note. Van Betten’s sharply observational songs add color to this grayscale life, whether he’s “Surrounded by All These Beautiful People I Love,” motor-mouthing about his “Ideal Day” (“living in East L.A.”) or waxing open-heartedly about “Friendship” on the album’s closing track. It’s the kind of record that’ll make you take fewer things for granted. Van Betten celebrates the album release with a show Nov. 2 at Scribble (5541 York Blvd.).

ELIZA McLAMB, “Anything You Want”

After introducing her debut album, “Going Through It,” last month with the song “Glitter,” Eliza McLamb takes some swipes at a familiar target — herself — on the second single, “Anything You Want.” She’s an “endless ball of yarn,” you see. “‘Anything You Want’ is a song about the uncertainty of navigating a new relationship with old wounds,” she says of the song. “It’s about seeing that someone is trying to know you and not being sure that you want to be known.” The album, produced by Sarah Tudzin (Illuminati Hotties), is out Jan. 19, and her long winter/spring tour is scheduled to wind up April 26 at the Troubadour.

ESCAPE ARTIST LOVERS, “Follow the Leader”

The follow-up to “Punctuation,” “Follow the Leader” is the latest single from the Kirk Hellie/Rain Phoenix collaboration Escape Artist Lovers. It’s a swooning, ’80s-styled rocker with Phoenix and Hellie neatly duetting over streaking synths and churning rhythms. The duo headline at Zebulon on Nov. 20 and open for the Bobby Lees on Dec. 14 at the Constellation Room, Dec. 15 at the Lodge Room and Dec. 16 at Pappy & Harriet’s.
