File under: Too Much for a Monday:
‣ Leonard Cohen plays a sold-out Nokia Theatre. The 78-yard-old icon’s latest album is titled “Old Ideas” and came out in January.
‣ Swedish hardcore outfit Refused plays the final date of its reunion tour at the Fonda Theatre, supported by the Bronx – who have a fourth album on the way and are playing just a few days short of the 10th anniversary of their first club show (Nov. 10, 2002, at the Troubadour).
‣ LP rocks the Troubadour, supported by the Diamond Light.
‣ November’s residencies kick off in the Silver Lake/Echo Park environs, and Buzz Bands LA is presenting the opening night of the Record Company’s stand at the Satellite. The blues trio will be supported by Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants, Rachel Goodrich and Warships. [You need to have the Record Company’s “Superdead” EP.]
‣ In the Valley Below [see “Peaches”] kicks off its Bootleg Bar residency supported by Kiven, Cayucas and Sanglorians.
‣ And Drive He Said – the new band from Maxim Ludwig – launches a residency at the Silverlake Lounge, supported by Paige Stark, the Brixtones and Stephen Sowan. [Get “Real Full-Time Guy.”]
