Video: Kan Wakan, ‘Forever Found’

2

That sweeping intro of “Forever Found” still sends us careening into a contemplative happy place, going on two years after the band then known as Oren Lyons debuted it. The Los Angeles septet now goes by Kan Wakan, of course, and the title track of the debut EP released in November remains deeply resonant in the video directed by Noel Paul (who’s done work for the likes of Röyksopp, Bat for Lashes, Father John Misty and Portugal. The Man). A woman and her horse wander through countryside and town, the woman seemingly tortured and disconnected but finding random bonds where she can. The video figures to tide us over until April 29, when the folk/ orchestral rock/R&B ensemble releases its debut full-length, “Moving On,” via Verve.
