M83, “Midnight City” – Popgazer extraordinaire Anthony Gonzalez spent a lot of time in L.A. working on the follow-up to “Saturdays=Youth,” and the first taste of M83’s “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming” only stokes the fires of anticipation for the new album. Oh my.  “Like” M83 on Facebook and get a free download of the song. M83 plays Nov. 9 at the El Rey Theatre.

Ladytron, “Ambulances” – OK, so I posted a song from the U.K. quartet’s forthcoming “Gravity the Seducer” (due out Sept. 13 on Nettwerk) in May. Here’s another from one of my front-runners for album of the year. Ladytron visits the Wiltern on Sept. 24.

The Whip, “Wired Together” sampler – The Manchester dance band made an outstanding album, “X Marks Destination,” in 2009, but unlike another purveyor of electro-shoegaze, Friendly Fires, they couldn’t pull it off live. They’re giving fans a five-song preview of “Wired Together,” out Sept. 19 in the U.K.
