[Further musical excursions and updates on bands we recently posted on:]

The Mowgli’s, “I’ve Been Around” – Quicker than you can pop a couple of Xanax, the Los Angeles septet has seemingly set its sights on Grouplove’s reign as Happiest Band Around. Their debut single “San Francisco” [see our March post] earned radio play on major FM outlets, and now band’s debut album, “Sound the Drum,” is landing on Tuesday. The gang’s all here, kids, and everybody’s in a good mood. The Mowgli’s celebrate their album release with a show Tuesday at the Roxy.

Mirror Lady, “Hands Are Tied” – When we introduced Mirror Lady in January, their synth-pop seemed as much about what wasn’t there as what was – minimalism, in the L.A. trio’s case, being a strong suit. Their “Roman Candles” EP (out earlier this month) is bedroom pop that’ll have you bouncing off the walls, and here’s another offering.

Tic Tic Boom!, “Constellation Boy” – The electro-pop quartet’s new EP, “Before the Sun Rises” (out this week), showcases a bigger, more rave-worthy sound than their early recordings. February’s teaser “For Feeling” was a bit punchier, but this new track lacks nothing for vigor. Just wondering, though: Will Lot 1 Cafe install a disco ball for their residency? They play the Echo Park venue every Wednesday in May.
