Dead Sara and Miya Folick brought the thunder, and Kitten (headlining the Fonda Theatre tonight) showed up as the secret guests Friday night as the GIRLSCHOOL Field Day Weekend got off to a sold-out start the Bootleg Theater. A panel discussion by female leaders in the music industry kicked the night off, and performances by Jade, Steady Holiday and the Bulls followed, leading up to Kitten, Folick and Dead Sara.

The three-day festival, a benefit for Rock ’n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles, continues tonight with Kim & the Created, Nina & Louise from Veruca Salt, White Sea and more.
