When Colorado pop duo Chairlift released their third album, “Moth,” in January, it was touted as their most “emotionally uninhibited.” Carolina Polachek and Patrick Wimberly did their best Saturday night to make the songs live up to that billing, doing their second L.A. headlining date in two months, this at the El Rey Theatre. The highlights from “Moth” — including “Romeo,” “Ch-Ching” and “Crying in Public” — won the crowd as Chairlift returned from gigs at South by Southwest to begin an 18-date tour. Lydia Ainsworth opened with a darker experimental set, including a batch of new tunes.
