Art-punk pioneers Television, along with Primus, Washed Out, the Coathangers, Morgan Delt and Mild High Club, have been added to the lineup of the fifth annual Desert Daze festival, Oct. 14-16 in Joshua Tree.

Boasting a new fall date and a new location — the Institute of Mentalphysics (a 420-acre retreat located at 59700 Twentynine Palms Highway) — those bands join previously announced performers such as Suicide, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Sonics, Deerhunter, The Black Angels, Thee Oh Sees and Connan Mockasin.

The festival also noted the addition of multimedia dance troupe WIFE and visual artist Cris Cichocki, who will present his latest work, Circular Dimensions. Also on the program: a screening of the film “Desert Age,” and a Q&A with filmmakers Trevar Cushing and Jason Pine along with Brant Bjork of Kyuss and Mario Lalli of Fatso Jetson.

The festival — promoted by Moon Block Party (now in conjunction for the first time with Spaceland Presents and Knitting Factory Entertainment) — will have more lineup additions (and the set times) to be announced in July.

Early-bird passes are sold out; three-day passes start at $165, and there are a number of VIP and camping options. Tickets available here.
