The two locations used to shoot the video for Sleeptalk’s song “Bones” tell you a lot about the angsty introspection in the San Fernando Valley quintet’s pop. Because for many who grew up in the Valley, there’s always the sense that there’s something better over the hill. So the video, directed by Strange Productions and filmed by Ben Banner and Brandon Wolford, juxtaposes imagery from Point Dume Beach with footage from Chatsworth’s Valley Relics Museum, a repository for various ephemera from the region.

“The beach is where me and my friends used to go and smoke/drink during the hot summer days and dark, grainy winter nights,” singer Anthony Fitzpatrick says. “Being young and free in this town, in California, means endless options. This video is exactly that concept. For me, this rawest, realist depiction of Sleeptalk.” The song is from “Young,” the second EP from the quintet — Fitzpatrick along with guitarists Jason Fitzpatrick and Justin Melchor, bassist Paul McGill and drummer Jacques Harmandjian. “Bones,” says Fitzpatrick, specifically addresses “being lost in my own mind” and having the beach as “the perfect place to go and think about things.”
