Glendale to debut Open Arts & Music Fest on Saturday, with Gavin Turek headlining

The City of Glendale gets into the music festival business Saturday when dance-pop phenom Gavin Turek headlines the first Open Arts & Music Festival at Glendale Central Park.

The diverse, two-stage festival features Turek, Miguel Atwood­-Ferguson, Madame Gandhi, Low Leaf, El-Haru­ Kuroi, Bei Ru, Wild Pack of Canaries and Jay Som on the main stage, along with Quitapenas, Maieli, Cuicani, Sunny War, Ooshatsank and Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles on the second.

The free, all-ages event, mounted by Glendale Arts, runs from noon to 10 p.m. at Central Park (201. E. Colorado St., a block away from the Americana).

Besides the music, the festival will offer the Y_NIS art installation, workshops, vendors, free admission to the nearby Museum of Neon Art, an interactive kids area, food trucks and a craft beer garden.
