Shaping up to be a frantic Friday:

Grimes – that’s the nom de tune of Montreal’s buzzing Claire Boucher – brings her synth-pop magic to the sold-out Echo, with Born Gold supporting. Grimes recently signed to the 4AD label, which released her “Visions” album this month. Go here to download “Genesis.”
‣ Speaking of sold out, Omaha indie-rock veterans Cursive play to a full house at the Troubadour behind their strong new album “I Am Gemini.”
‣ Bradford Cox, as Atlas Sound, plays two sold-out shows at the Center for the Arts in Eagle Rock. Atlas Sound’s third album “Parallax” came out last year.
‣ Kentucky-bred, L.A.-based singer-songwriter Jesse Thomas celebrates the release of her debut album “War Dancer” with an early set at the Hotel Cafe.
‣ Brooklyn psych-rockers the Big Sleep headline the Satellite behind their new album on French Kiss Records, “Nature Experiments.” Tennis System and Blonde Summer support.
‣ And SoCal country stalwarts I See Hawks In L.A. play McCabe’s Guitar Shop two weeks ahead of the release of their new album, “New Kind of Lonely.”
