‣ Aesop Rock headlines the El Rey Theatre behind his new album “Skelethon” (that’s the video for “Zero Dark Thirty,” above), with Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz supporting.
‣ L.A.’s Sea Wolf, San Francisco’s Geographer and all manner of games and fun are on the bill at a special event called “Into the Night: Playtime” at the Skirball Cultural Center.
‣ Reunited slowcore pioneers Codeine, with the six-LP reissue “When I See the Sun” just out, is playing its final shows. Tonight they are joined by Mark Eitzel at the Echoplex.
‣ Indie-rock provacateurs Thao With the Get Down Stay Down play a free noontime show at California Plaza as part of the Grand Performanes series.
‣ And on the local tip, Random Patterns are playing what they’re calling their final show at the Highland Park American Legion Hall.
