‣ Quite a night ahead at the Echoplex – Wavves headlines behind their recent release “Afraid of Heights,” and along with come King Tuff and Jacuzzi Boys. Above, Wavves’ video for “That’s On Me.”
‣ The Dodos visit the El Rey Theatre behind their recently released “Carrier,” Dustin Wong opening.
‣ Simple Minds, on their first U.S. tour in more than a decade, play the Orpheum.
‣ Classic songs are on the menu tonight at the Fonda, where Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg (featuring Andrew W.K. on vocals) rocks it.
‣ Sleigh Bells’ third album “Bitter Rivals” came out last week on Mom + Pop, and the duo of Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller rage tonight at the Observatory in O.C. Doldrums open.
‣ Brooklyn trio San Fermin plays the Echo behind its self titled debut; Tall Tales & the Silver Lining and Western Lows set the table.
‣ The Peach Kings headline the Bootleg Bar, where they’re joined by Old Age and the We Shared Milk.
‣ And at the Satellite, it’s a free show – A Tribute to Johnny Cash features Rocco Deluca, Sierra Swan, Jordie Lane, Fairbanks, Geronimo Getty and more.
