Saturday things:
‣ Pearl Jam [pictured], who recently released their latest album “Lightning Bolt,” takes on the Los Angeles Sports Arena.
‣Â The Black Crowes rock the Wiltern.
‣Â Kate Nash headlines the Fonda Theatre in support of her recent release “Girl Talk.” Emmy the Great, the Aquadolls and Skating Polly support.
‣ It’s a special night at the El Rey Theatre with Active Child bringing a string quartet and a choir on stage with him to perform songs off his new “Rapor” EP. JMSN and Lawrence Rothman also play.
‣ Flamin’ Groovies headline Echoes West 2 and are joined by David J (who, backed by Sky Parade, will perform Love & Rockets songs), Magic Wands, Willoughby, Beach Party, the Abigails and many more. All proceeds will go toward medical expenses for Sasha Valley (Silver Chords, Spindrift, the Warlocks), who requires neck and spine surgery.
‣ And over at the Satellite, things get loud and fast with Japan’s Church of Misery headlining and Zoroaster and Against the Grain opening.
