The 1975 received a heroes’ welcome on Friday night at Forum and delivered with an energetic, 23-song set highlighted by songs from their second album “I Like It When You Sleep …” (In fact, some fans had camped out at the Forum as early as Tuesday night in order to be first in for the show.) The 1975 opened with “Love Me,” ended with “The Sound,” and in between did their to ensure the show didn’t go unhinged. At one point, singer Matthew Healy asked for everyone on the floor to take three steps back because the pit was so crowded. Healy also encouraged the crowd to vote on Nov. 8, saying even though the band is from England, this election could go wrong very easily. He noted that the crowd was “filled with beautiful, liberal, intelligent young, people-minded people” and that they shouldm “Just vote. Alright?”
070 Shake opened the show, jumping all around the show to try to get the energy up. She mentioned how she saw the Weeknd at the Forum there and was very excited to be performing on the Forum stage.
