Since releasing their full-length “Eternal Lonesome” in 2016 and a self-titled EP the following year, L.A. dark-pop trio Draemings have unleashed a steady stream of singles that prowl emotional shadows and seek some catharsis, or at least comfort, there.

“Stranger Than Believing” is their first of the new year, and it’s a throbbing trip into the nocturnal, like being led into a loud nightclub with your head wrapped in a black hood. “Closed doors / and pulsing lights,” Kimi Recor repeats, her incantation answered by bubbling synths. Recor and bandmates Christopher Vick and Thorson are working on a new full-length that may or may not include some of those 2018 singles. Either way, it promises to be immersive.
