Premiere: Magic Bronson, ‘Tell All Your Friends’

It sounds as if there’s a party — remember parties? — going on in the background of Magic Bronson’s new single “Tell All Your Friends.” Which is no surprise: If there’s a party going on, the duo of Matt Lieberman and Michael Nicastro are probably the life of it.
Over an album and three EPs, Magic Bronson’s audacious music has straddled the lines between bass-drenched rock, hip-hop and heavy EDM, the elements of which underscore the duo’s often-acerbic wit about the perils of modern life. That they cast a Mutt-and-Jeff presence onstage, with the 6-foot-6 Nicastro commanding two mics as if he needs one for both sides of his brain, only adds to the appeal.
“Tell All Your Friends” is more a straight-up banger than cleverisms such as 2018’s “Nervous” (which was snapped up to promote Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s fashion line) or “Wake Up (111th Dream)” and “Hell With a Water Pistol,” both off their 2016 EP. Nicastro kicks off the new track with a state-of-the-world — “This is the time of mass confusion / Don’t blink, you might miss the illusion” — before it swirls toward the shout-along chorus.
The single, out today, is the first from an album that Magic Bronson plans to release this fall. Schedule your party accordingly.
