San Diego dance-pop trio Almost Monday has gone from nowhere to “know-them” in just a year and half, tapping into a common commercial formula: Keep things funky, euphoric and, as their choruses are concerned, big — even at the risk of running them into the ground.

Having made their mark with their 2019 single “Broken People” (and, eventually, a Sofi Tukker remix), the trio of singer Dawson Daugherty, bassist Luke Fabry and guitarist Cole Clisby is building toward the release of their second EP. And their new single, “Hailey Beebs,” co-produced by Mark Needham and Simon Oscroft, came out today.

It’s good, clean fun, bubbling out of its groove for Daugherty to proclaim “I’m alive with you” in a way that makes it feel like it’s you — yes, you — he’s alive with.

In today’s announcement, the trio said its new EP, which will also include their February single “Live Forever,” would arrive sometime this summer.
