Pageants (Danikha Nunez)

In today’s video roundup, we spend some time with visuals from Pageants, Fana Hues, Azure Ray and Drew Beck

PAGEANTS, “Just Tell Me”

The follow-up to “It Might Be Crazy,” “Just Tell Me” is the latest from Long Beach duo Pageants’ sophomore album “Sun and Settled Days,” out July 30. Rebecca Coleman and Devin O’Brien decamped to Joshua Tree to make the video themselves. “‘Just Tell Me’ is about the pitfalls and blind spots of a friendship that has long since passed its expiration date,” Coleman says. “I wrote this at a time when I was struggling to look past the good times in a friendship — past my friend’s true potential — and just accept that they’d done me dirty for the last time.” Of the video, O’Brien says: “It’s a visual representation of strength and independence, of newfound confidence and swag, all tinged with Western Cali charm.”

FANA HUES, “Lay Up”

Not only is “Lay Up” one of the most memorable jams on the Pasadena singer-songwriter’s “Hues” — her debut album released in December — the David Dutton-directed video, filmed at a lodge in northern California, earns big. It’s her sixth video from the album and the follow-up to “Yellow,” released in April. She says of them: “I want these visuals to be a deep sigh of relief after a dark time. I want you to feel the rays of light only your homegirls can give you.”

AZURE RAY, “I Don’t Want To Want To”

Just leaving this here as a reminder that Azure Ray’s “Remedy” — the first album in a decade from Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink — will be out June 18. When they harmonize, it feels as if a great weight is lifted … so count this as timely.

DREW BECK, “Peace and Flowers”

Let the beautiful vistas and and visual effects from filmmaker Michael Puglisi mess with your equilibrium during the title track of Drew Beck’s EP, “Peace and Flowers.”
