As if musical polymath St. Panther needed to stoke anticipation for her 2022 album/EP/mixtape any more, today she released a double-barreled single, “Greatness” and “Places,” which show two of her many sides.

The Irvine-bred artist — Daniela Bojorges-Giraldo, stationed in East L.A. since last February — celebrates rising to the occasion on “Greatness,” a fast-flowing hip-hop track that she says is “about leveling up.” She adds: “In so many words it’s a song about arriving to a place in your life where you couldn’t imagine yourself asking for more, and celebrating being in the now.”

Of “Places,” a lo-fi soul track that doesn’t feel quite finished, she says, “I think ‘Places’ is the most reflective song I’ve written about my life. It’s not a song directly talking about what those places were, what kind of experiences were had, but the soul of where I’ve been quickly became the soul of the song.”

The latest songs follow the release in September of “Problems” and “Real Love Takes Time” as St. Panther builds on the momentum of her 2020 EP, “These Days.”
