Video: The Know, ‘Me’

Maybe you just want to slow the world down a bit. Maybe you’re a sucker for reverb. Maybe the hopeless romantic in you gets all tingly over lyrics like “I waited years just to meet you.” Maybe you have a glitter fetish.
Any of the above is fine reason to spend four minutes with the video for “Me,” a song off husband-wife duo the Know’s sophomore release, “EP2.”
Exuding a fawning reverence for dream-pop artists and their shoegaze aunts and uncles down through history, Daniel Knowles and Jennifer Farmer turn their pristine musical chops toward relationship issues — theirs and others’ — that they witnessed being magnified by pandemic. “Me” aside, it’s not all happily ever after.
The Know’s first EP came out in 2020, and combined with this new release (and weighing their involvement in the pre-Know dream-pop project Ghostel), the duo have emerged as formidable purveyors of the genre.
